Jay Berman's wife says her husband knows everything you might need to know about the three B's: Baseball, the Beatles and Buddy Holly. He has attended baseball games in 27 U.S. states and five Canadian provinces, as well as in Japan, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
He wrote about the John Lennon Museum in Tokyo for the New York Times, Buddy Holly Week activities in Lubbock, Texas, for the Times of London, and the Midnight Sun baseball game in Fairbanks, Alaska, for the Los Angeles Times.
Berman has been published in the Christian Science Monitor, Vancouver Sun, Toronto Globe & Mail, The (Vancouver) Province, Chicago Tribune, Sacramento Bee and Road & Track magazine.
He was advisor to the student newspaper at California State University, Fullerton, for 12 years, during which time he was named the California Newspaper Publishers Association's Outstanding Journalism Professor.
He received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Southern California.
Berman and his wife, Irene, live in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
