I was born and raised in the Toronto area, and am proud to be a Canadian. I have always had a strong interest in history, especially the history of Canada, and the war of 1812.
When I graduated high school, I enlisted in the Canadian Navy, spending some time on Canada's west coast, before returning to Ontario where I joined the army reserve. My love of the sea, and all things naval, is reflected in some of my writings. Legends and stories about the sea fascinate me.
Since returning to civilian life, I have made my living in the law enforcement field.
I obtained my college diploma in law enforcement, but have taken both history and creative writing courses out of personal interest.
I also love to travel, taking every opportunity to visit places of historical interest along the way.
Writing for Suite 101 is an excellent opportunity for me to write about things that interest me, and hopefully share that passion with others. I enjoy visiting battlefields, monuments, and sites from the War of 1812, but also enjoy white water rafting, tales of the supernatural, and hockey..... fortunately, these are all things I am able to do, living here in Ontario.
Photography is another of my favourite pastimes, and I am enjoying combing my written work with pictures I have taken.
I am looking forward to writing many more pieces here at Suite 101, and sharing my interests.
