Jan Lee is the Feature Writer for Suite101’s Judaism section. A former editor and news reporter, she enjoys writing on topics that relate to Jewish traditions and customs throughout the world. Her goal is to provide as comprehensive and inclusive overview of Judaism as possible. She believes that there is no one Jewish viewpoint, and strives to reflect the plurality of its many beliefs, traditions and customs in her articles and blogs.
Lee also writes on Northwest Canada and United States history and travel. Her articles and descriptions have been published on the travel and journalism sites BC Adventure, Examiner, Go Northwest and Columbus World Travel Guide. She is the winner of the 2004 Society of Professional Journalists award in Editorial Writing (Greater Oregon Chapter).
Although most of her travels are currently focused on North America destinations, she has traveled in 23 countries and lived in Mexico, Guatemala, England, Spain, Israel, Canada and the U.S. At the present time her residence is split between British Columbia where she grew up, and the South Coast of Oregon.
