Jane Ammeson writes about food, travel and personalities and likes out of the way places, taking an unusual look at everyday destinations, historical travel and exploring the culinary heritage of the places she visits. Her work appears frequently in Chicago Life Magazine, AAA Home & Away magazine, the Northwest Indiana Times, which also hosts her blog, www.nwi.blogs/roadtrips, Gannett newspapers, the Chicago Tribune and magazines and the Grand Rapids Press as well as Northwest Airlines in flight magazine World Traveler and Northern Indiana Lakes magazine. She is a James Beard Foundation Restaurant Awards Judge and covers Detroit and Green Bay, Wisconsin for Gayot.com. She also writes a weekly food column for the Herald Palladium.

She is also the author of five books including the recently released "Indiana's Lincolnland" (Arcadia Publishing) about the 14 years that young Lincoln spent in Southern Indiana. Her current book, due out at the end of this year is “Brown County, Indiana.”
