I'm just starting out as a freelance writer; part time at present although its my fond hope I can do this full time one day.
My major non fiction areas of interest relate to Ancient History, Archaeology and travel. I have a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of Leicester (where I was also awarded the Arnold Wycombe Gomme prize for ancient history) and a Masters in Ancient History and Historiography from the University of Bristol. Both my dissertations in the area of magic and religion in the Roman Empire have been published: The Origins and Meaning of Roman Witchcraft and Roman Magic and Witchcraft in Late Antiquity.
I have travelled around Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Much of this has been Roman motivated but I love to travel generally and really experience other cultures. Adventures to date include riding camels in the Sahara, visitingTripoli and having tea with the Bedouin.
To date,I have published various travel and history related articles on internet sites such as Italianvisits.com and helium.com.
