William Nava - Profile
A home made film expert, the vast majority of my knowledge of film comes from the hundreds of films I've watched, and from the countless hours of research on my own time. Although I have my small accomplishments, such as being a staff writer for The Excelsior (college paper where I attend), my greatest pride is in my personal investment in understanding the medium.
I watch both contemporary films and classics on a regular basis. In 2007 I saw 72 theatrical releases of that year; I wouldn't even begin to guess how many other films I saw on DVD. I have no genre preferences - I simply like good films. My favorite filmmakers are Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock and Paul Thomas Anderson.
I am currently majoring in film production at Brooklyn College, and apart from my writing, I devote some of my free time to working on amateur short films and screenplays.
