History is made of much more than the mind-numbing lists of dates and names you had to memorize at school. Like detectives at a crime scene, historians have to sort out and puzzle through a mess of problems, evidence, testimony and paperwork to arrive at an interpretation of any sort of historical event, person or issue. Oftentimes, the stories they arrive at create more questions than resolutions, offering rich new topics for the next generation of professional and amateur historians, like yourself, to dig into.
Be prepared to jump into the past as you learn more about some of the more famous and other lesser-known figures in history on this page. You'll also be introduced to some wonderfully innovative historical resources, including interactive websites, teaching guides, and online tools. Remember - history is a conversation, not a lecture, so feel free to email me with any comments, observations or notes!
