Heather Gillett, writer for the travel/culture section of Suite 101, is a professional freelance writer and journalist.
From a very young age, Heather demonstrated a unique ability to find a great story and share it in an interesting way. As a child, this talent was seen when she would convince neighborhood kids to act out her stories in plays she created. As an adult, this talent would lead to producing two news programs everyday for CBS News.
Along with a natural curiousity for other people's stories, Heather also has a strong love for travel. With one parent from Australia and the other from the U.S., Heather has traveled across the globe throughout her life. She was born down under, spent most of her child hood in Hong Kong, and grew up in Texas and Louisiana. She has visited many areas of Australia and is now exploring the Eastern Coast.
Besides traveling, Heather enjoys meeting new people, learning about different cultures and opinions, debating politics and discovering unique places to visit. From this she draws her material.
In her spare time Heather enjoys running, playing sports and cooking.
