I started my career in education in 1995 as a secondary (high school) languages teacher, with a B.A. degree in French from Manchester University (UK). I have also taught a wider curriculum at primary level, and set up Spanish and French language clubs. Over the years I have gained a lot of experience of Special Educational Needs and disaffected youngsters, and this is now where my career is focused. I teach at a Special School for youngsters on the Autistic Spectrum, and am especially interested in ways to raise motivation and increase self-esteem amongst this group.
In 2006 I had an article, Through The Rabbit Hole (about my experience of primary teaching) published in The Times Educational Supplement, here in the UK.
I live in Shropshire and am the proud mother of a rampaging toddler.I am very interested in all things parent-related. In April 2007 I organised my own money-saving wedding and am very interested in all things to do with getting married. When I get time I love a night out at the cinema, or a night in with an absorbing book. My tastes are eclectic, so 'absorbing' can mean anything from Tolstoy to romantic trash!
