I am a published newpaper feature journalist with 15 years of experience.
Newspapers that have regularily published my work are: The Salinas Californian and The Daily Star (NY) where my features work has included pieces on holidays, recreational sports, seasonal activities and family matters. The Delaware County Times (NY) is a weekly newspaper that I write extensively for, reporting on local business and government, events, agriculture, rural youth and the environment.. I have written a monthly horticulture newsletter for Bokay Nursery in Salinas, California for 15 years.
With a degree in landscape contracting and design along with a working produce farm, I am qualified to write about agricultural and environmental matters in an informed and involved manner. As a parent of teenagers I am intuned with youth issues, especially relating to rural and small town issues. My aging parents and in-laws give me a sensitive insight into some of the impacts of aging on entire families. Family vacations are budget adventures for my family and we manage to conjure up some incredible outings without spending a lot of money and these are writing ideas I will be happy to share with readers.
