Christine Welter is a freelance writer and research librarian.

Born and raised in the Pfalz (Germany) she moved to the United States when she was 25 years old.

She holds an MA in German and English Literature from the University of Tübingen, Germany and an MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) from San Jose State, California.

Her areas of expertise include literature, German film, history and travel in Western Europe and the Western United States. One of her FilmGuides is hosted on the Stanford University Library website.

She taught German at the US State Department and contributed to the following books:

Deutsch: Na Klar! An Introductory German Course

The Continuum Encyclopedia of Young Adult Literature

She worked at the Library of Congress and the German Historical Institute in Washington D.C.

Her articles have been published in Die Rheinpfalz ( German regional daily) and

Die Tageszeitung (TAZ ) (German nationwide daily).
