Just a "pore 'ole country boy with a beard" would probably be the simplest way to describe myself. I could also be called a husband, father, grandfather, 4-H leader, fisherman, and a home-grown cook. A transplanted Texan, I live with my Wife and thirteen year old Son in a small mountain valley located in North Central Arizona. It's a great place to live and raise a family. Four years ago, at the age of 56, I began my college education. I guess you could say that I sorta took the roundabout road after high school. I loved it and will probably return, sometime in the future, to finish my degree. Three years ago, while working a construction job during summer break, I fractured my back. I also survived double by-pass heart surgery a year or so ago. Due to my physical problems, I can no longer work outside the home. Thankfully, I learned a bit about computers while attending college. That knowledge gives me a creative outlet through E-Mail and my writing. Several years ago, my Wife and I inherited a library of old recipes and cookbooks from our Grandmothers. Using this information, much of which is handwritten notes and recipes, I publish a newsletter called "Grandma's Secrets". I feel that the old methods of cooking and the recipes that I enjoyed as a child should be shared with others and the newsletter allows me to do just that. In short, I'm just a guy who likes to sit on the riverbank, fishing pole in hand, and watch the water flow by. I also like to prepare and eat, "good 'ole down home cooking" and I don't, at all, mind sharing the recipes with others. |
