Born and raised in Pennsylvania, I finished university and volunteered in the U.S. Peace Corps from 2002 until 2004 in Uzbekistan. Since then I have worked in Mongolia, Korea, the West Bank, and most recently Spain. When I'm not traveling I'm usually teaching English and writing travel articles.

My articles have appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Seattle Times, Transitions Abroad Magazine, The National Catholic Register, The Scranton Times-Tribune, and the BootsNAll Travel Network.
