Giulia de Robert is a freelance journalist.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science with specialization on Cooperation for Development and a master's degree on Human Development and Food Security.
She has been writing for several newspapers about International Politics with a focus on humanitarian crises. She developed soon a passion for a kind of journalism that tells people about forgotten stories in developing countries. Her commitment towards that kind of journalism grew when she joined the United Nations in 2004. Giulia started working as a journalist in the Communication unit of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) - a UN specialized agency dedicated to eradicate rural poverty in developing countries. Soon after she joined the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO),the leading UN agency dedicated to fight hunger in the world.
As a freelance journalist she has also collaborated with international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) such as Action Aid International and the International Alliance against Hunger. Giulia speaks fluently Italian, German, English, French, and she is currently learning also Arabic. The opportunity to travel to Middle Eastern countries further increased her awareness of issues pertaining that area.
