Elizabeth Gibson

Writer
Elizabeth Gibson, Elizabeth Gibson

My name is Elizabeth Gibson. I live in Washington State. My career has always been related to the writing and publishing field in some way. I currently work as a technical writer/editor. For the past eight years, I have been actively pursuing freelance opportunities.

History is really my hobby. I have dozens of books on American history, and will surely acquire more with the advent of Amazon.com and eBay. And any time I travel, I always pick up books on the local history. I am the past editor of our local historical society newsletter called "The Courier." I also take pictures of local scenes for The Courier and research and write articles.

I have a BA in Humanities with an English/History double major from Washington State University, and an AAS in paralegal studies from Columbia Basin College. Over the years I have published the following books:

  • February 2001 - "It Happened in Nevada," Globe-Pequot Press, Guilford, CT
  • November 2001 - "Outlaw Tales of Washington," Globe-Pequot Press, Guilford, CT
  • Sept 2002 - "Images of America: Richland, Washington," Arcadia Publishing, Charleston
  • Nov 2002 - "Images of America: Yakima, Washington," Arcadia Publishing
  • June 2004 - "Images of America: Walla Walla, Washington," Arcadia Publishing
  • July 2007 - "Images of America: Grant County, Washington," Arcadia Publishing

My focus here will be Pacific Northwest history, namely Washington, Oregon, Idaho, western Montana, and southern British Columbia. I will also likely write a few travel articles for these same areas as I have traveled the area extensively.
