Raised in Asia, Europe and North America, Vicki is currently a full-time freelance writer and poet. Craving a wide variety of food and cultures, she loves experimenting in the kitchen with fresh ingredients. Education / Creative Writing Blessed to have studied under the talented American poet, David Louis Posner, Vicki received her B.A. at the University of Central Florida in English with a concentration in writing. In March of 2003 at an international poetry convention, she walked away the startled-but-happy recipient of a $20,000.00 Grand Prize for a poem titled,"Love Letter to India". In 2007 Vicki received a top prize in poetry in the Writer's Digest annual contest for her poem, "Delhi Swim Club". Her poem, "Bijou", was published in the Competition Collection in April of 2009 in the Writer's Digest 4th annual competition. In September, 2009, her poetry trilogy ("A Note to my Father in Brighton", "The Reading" and "Je Vois Tout") was accepted to be published by WEbook in the Best Poets of WEbook anthology. Her opinion on contests: You'll never win if you never try. Work Experience Along with her thirteen years of teaching (literature, creative writing, French, Latin, history), she has also worked for SW FL Women's Digest, a local print magazine, as editor, writer and sales rep. She flew with Delta Air Lines for half a dozen years until a plane crash grounded her, temporarily. A certified Zumba Gold dance instructor, she enjoys music from every corner of the globe.
