Falen Oestrike

Born in the downriver area of Detroit, I lived from the open crime free land of the Upper Peninsula to the suburbs of motor city. Moving to Florida at the age of eight, my parents kept a house in upper Michigan moving me back and forth throughout each school year. This allowed me to experience both northern and southern living.

I currently live in Central Florida where I just graduated with a BA in Journalism and minor in Cinema Studies from the University of Central Florida. Working my way through college bartending at local sports bars and banquet facilities I worked in places where men dominated and women had to prove themselves. I made sure to learn as much as possible about being a good mixologist.

Good food and great films are major passions of mine. What’s better than sitting down to a home cooked meal and watching a cinema classic, but don’t forget the dessert. When a film is really great I have a tendency to watch it over and over again, analyzing every detail. The arts are another passion of mine, from dance to ceramics and everything in-between.

With a infant in tow, I've had to learn how to manage my time and hobbies even better than BB (before baby). As a Jackie of all trades and master of none, I love learning and writing about a variety of subjects.
