I am a practicing physician in the United States and am board certified in internal medicine. I practice hospital medicine and have a broad range of knowledge in a variety of topics in internal medicine, with particular interest in infectious disease, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune disease, gastroenterology and musculoskeletal disease.
My interest in cardiovascular medicine has produced original research published in a peer-reviewed journal. I have also written extensively on craniofacial disorders. Several of these news articles, written for families and patients, appear currently on the Johns Hopkins Medicine website. I have an excellent working knowledge of human anatomy & physiology.
I also have a strong basic sciences background, having conducted research in cell biology. My research in the cellular process of endocytosis resulted in publication in a peer-reviewed journal as well as the Johns Hopkins University newsletter.
Additionally, I have an interest in preventive medicine and nutrition. My interest stems from a desire to educate my patients on proper preventive measures and dietary habits to prevent onset of heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
I love to write and have a strong background in English and the humanities. I look forward to combining my love for the written word with my medical knowledge and background.
