Karen Lotter is a journalist and writer based in Durban, South Africa.
She has written profiles, features, advertising copy, obituaries, press releases and columns in magazines, company newsletters and newspapers; written and produced corporate scripts and scribbled messages to gorgeous strangers on coasters in lip liner.
She has been writing speeches for local government politicians in Durban since 1996 as well as doing Afrikaans translations for advertising agencies; surviving some stints editing specialized newspapers; putting together corporate publications; writing features; presenting workshops on communications related issues; getting seriously into blogging and then at 50, suddenly discovering that she can write fiction.
Her first novel, a crime fiction story set in South Africa, has been accepted by a publisher in the USA..
She now has an website development company, eThekwini Website Factory and focuses on writing web contents and taking photos.
