Ian Carr-de Avelon - Profile

I am now 37. Originally I am from the Rochdale in the NW of England. After becoming a postgraduate qualified teacher of Physics and Balanced Science, I worked for number of years as a teacher in Britain and later Rotterdam in the Netherlands. For a few years I moved to for the Centre of Microcomputer Applications in the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In 1996 I setup a small Linux based ISP in Poland, where I now live happily married to Ewa.

Patience and perseveranceare among my noted characteristics. Certainly I see myself as being capable of whatever I sets my mind to. This approach works well with Linux and Open Source software in general. The alternative ie. accepting things as they are and yourself as you are is (in my humble opinion) a route to self

destruction.

I work permanently connected to the Internet, logging in to servers which need

my attention, which may be on the other side of the room, or on the other side of the world. I have colleagues in the office, but the work I do is mainly over their heads. Any assistance comes from work groups which are established on the Internet to push developments as we need them.
