A freelance writer and stay-at-home mother to two young children, Renée is also the Chicago Children's Toys Examiner at Examiner.com. Renée has worked for eight years in the field of educational publishing. Over the course of her career, she has written, edited, and project managed educational products for publishers including Scott Foresman, Pearson Learning Group, Scholastic, Houghton Mifflin, and Rigby. Her works as an author include informational articles, content readers, an educational picture book, and lesson plans. Although she continues to work on educational projects – particularly in the content areas of elementary reading, vocabulary, social studies, and science – Renée also writes informational articles about subjects such as parenting and educational toys. In addition, she writes short stories for children. Renée completed all the coursework for a Ph.D. and holds a Masters Degree in English Literature. She also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, Elementary Education, and History. Renée's hobbies include studying children's literature, listening to opera, researching and testing educational toys, playing with her children, baking, making crafts, celebrating holidays, rediscovering the works of Richard Scarry with her daughter, and investigating what that big crash just now was.
