Isaac M. McPhee - Profile

Photo of Isaac McPhee, Isaac

Isaac McPhee was born as a human child in Mt. Vernon, WA.

While he maintains that he has no recollection of those formative years, some dispute this claim as being too "convenient." Isaac majored in English Literature at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, only to find himself a social outcast due to his dislike of the works of Henry David Thoreau. Nevertheless, Isaac perservered through many dead-end jobs, gaining experience and expertise in such areas as carpentry, general construction, food preparation, sales, marketing, home repair, and finances, he has found solace only in his writing - which he does moderately well.

Isaac has begun working as the Feature Writer for the Math/Chaos Theory section here on Suite101.com. While he has a lot of work to do before he can bring this section up to the level it deserves (any help from other writers out there interested in math would be greatly appreciated), he looks forward to working on honing his math communication skills through his articles there.

Other topics of interest in Isaac's writing are as follows, in no particular order:

History - American, Roman, Greek and British

Science (particularly physics)

Geography

Architecture

Home Improvement

ESP and Psychic Manipulation

...okay, that last one was clearly a joke to test your reactions. However, seeing as how Isaac can't actually see you right now, he is beginning to realize that he may not have fully thought this through.

Isaac's collected works - eventually to be released in a 26 volume compilation which will, with any luck, rival the Oxford English Dictionary both in size and cultural impact - include eight unpublished novels, a non-fiction tome on the subject of Theoretical Physics, a couple hundred miscellaneous articles, some irreverent blogs, a short story or two, and a children's book about an elephant.

Currently in progress by the pen of Isaac are: An epic novel of historical fiction, a thorough examination of the history of party politics in the United States, and a survey of the Rome during the period of the Kings.

Isaac, in other words, refuses to be bound to the confines of a single genre.
