Many of you know me as Dubh Sidhe from my original topic of Folklore, but my given name is Virginia. I am a product of Convent schools, the University of San Francisco, and University of California at Berkeley - but be advised: Berkeley did NOT change my Christian beliefs! In fact, I dug in, tied a knot and held on! Pursued advanced education in biological sciences, English literature, and elementary education; Honors Graduate cum laude, 1975 with Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America Award in 1977. I also hold a degree as a Registered Nurse, serving 8 years in the United States Navy Nurse Corps, and 2 years with the United States Public Health Service. In addition to usually teaching grade 3, I have taught every grade level, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Confraternity of Christian Doctrine for many years. Winter of 2005 I completed 3 courses: Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey and Jewish History. I collect Caldecott and Newberry Award Books and have an impressive collection, including first editions. I enjoy several favorite authors: Clive Cussler, Dorothy Gilman, Anne Perry, and Benjamin Bloom on "Writing Educational Objectives." |
