I earned a Ph.D. in Science Education from George Mason University. My Ph.D. program, experiences teaching science, along with working for the Smithsonian Institution and National Academies of Science; provide the foundation for my views and beliefs regarding how science should be taught. Hands-on, minds-on with the integration of technology as a common thread.

I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Old Dominion University. The focus was in Science and Mathematics Education.

I earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Saint Leo University.

My life experiences include living in England, Germany, and Japan. I travel extensively, visiting over 60 countries around the world. Travel experiences include North of the Arctic Circle, below the Equator, and sailing across every major ocean or sea in the world. As for the U.S., I visited every state except four and plan to visit the last four soon.
