David Hamilton was born and raised in a small town in central Canada, where he developed a love of literature and story-telling early in his life.
He worked at the community radio station as a reporter and news writer during and after graduating high school where he learned the value of accurate and timely reporting. He also indulged his interest in music, programming much of the day's programming.
He began his post-secondary career at Queen's University in philosophy but ended up studying Economics and Sociology - subjects in which he still fosters a healthy interest.
In terms of news writing, when David is not reading the day's Toronto Star or the latest New Yorker or Atlantic, he enjoys reading creative journalism from the likes of Thomas Wolfe, Norman Mailer, and Gay Talese.
David hopes to continue his journalism career as a newspaper and magazine writer, and channel some of the energy and style of his idols to his own writing.
