Duane Sharp
Suite101.com Contributing Writer
I am a retired professional engineer (electronics), with over 40 years of writing experience in technology topics, with a focus on the IT sector. Over the years, I have had hundreds of articles published, under my own byline and for clients such as IBM, Digital Equipment Company, and many other IT firms, large and small, which are long gone or swallowed up by competitors.
I have had three books published, two of which are currently available on amazon.com (“Customer Relationship Management Systems Handbook” – CRC Press, and “Call Center Operation” – Elsevier).
I have been active in community associations, serving as a director and president of both the Mississauga Technology Association, and the Mississauga Chapter of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, as well as a director of the Mississauga Technology Business Accelerator.
I have also served in editorial capacities for a national technology publication (Electronics & Communications) and for a local business publication (Business Times).
My teaching experience includes six years of lecturing in the Business Communications Department of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, and more recently, as a sessional lecturer in personal privacy issues at the University of Toronto at Mississauga (UTM).
