Deirdre Swain

Deirdre Swain is a Toronto-based writer, editor and film critic. For four years she has been a regular freelance contributor to NOW magazine's film section, where she has covered the Toronto International Film Festival, interviewed directors such as Atom Egoyan and Sydney Pollack, and written about everything from popcorn blockbusters to independent documentaries. She studied film and political science at Queen's University and has a journalism degree from Ryerson University. Her writing has also appeared in eye Weekly magazine, the Kingston Whig Standard, the Globe and Mail, PIC Press, FilmPrint and on Chicklit.com.
