Having intimate knowledge of the education gauntlet is a unique attribute which defines David's professional background. Starting his career history in higher education, David both designed and implemented student-centered community models at three different U.S. institutions. Focusing on areas such as student housing, campus life, personal accountability, and social advocacy, David successfully helped create a safe and memorable college experience for numerous college students.
Shortly thereafter, David utilized his background in science education and served as a schoolteacher in central Colorado. When the opportunity arose to teach abroad however, David immediately packed his bags and headed to Japan, where he taught English for nearly two years in private language school. Living in a rural area of south Japan not only yielded the kind of professional experience that many dream of, but also introduced David his beautiful wife and a new found desire to travel the world. Already having been to over 15 countries, he is well on his way to needing a new passport!
Currently, David is serving as Youth Program Specialist for a local non-profit working with the Denver Public School system. Designing and implementing curriculum for an after school program centered on Emotional Intelligence and peer mentoring currently takes up most of his time and attention.
