As a freelance writer, my ongoing hunt for news worthy stories inexorably led me into the arena of global affairs. Being passionate about politics and labour issues, I have stumbled upon no small amount of frustration at the hands of a media machine that would rather churn out article after article about the latest celebrity mishap than the struggles of Russian trade unionists or the plight of East Asian sweatshop workers.

Since the pen is allegedly mightier than the sword (although I think this metaphor needs updating to bear relevance in the face of modern methods of war) I have sought to put the written word to good use in the arena of global affairs and politics. As a graduate of the London School of Journalism, I have worked on several publications, and been active on the left wing of politics for a number of years.
