Corinne Shibley
Contributing Writer
Corinne Shibley is a trained artist, with a B.A. in Studio Art. She received an award for excellence in textile design from Mary Washington College. She has also received awards for the cleaning and restoration of the murals in the chapel of St. Joseph's Villa in Richmond, Va. She has concentrated on experimenting with, and developing, her own original quilting methods for the last 10 years. One method, The Whole Quilt Method™, was developed for traditional looking quilts made with non-traditional methods. She has a published book explaining her method. Front to Back Applique™ was developed specifically for creating art quilts.
Experimentation spills into her other interests, including cooking, jewelry making, candle making, and sculpting. She loves cooking almost as much as she loves to eat. Recipes are only as good as the ingredients used, and she's a firm believer in using the best ingredients. She says "Everyone needs to eat, it should be a pleasure, rather than a just chore".
