<p>As a breast cancer survivor, I became passionate about the need for all cancer patients to have the tools necessary for them to advocate for their own best health care. I work in an academic medical center, serve as a patient advocate and continue to volunteer within the community, and on a national level, as a community outreach educator, grant reviewer, hotline counselor and mentor/buddy.</p>
