Christopher Baker

Contributor

After 3 years of studying palaeobiological sciences at the University Of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, and graduating with a Honours Degree, Chris spent two years wondering what exactly to do with his life. During a period of voluntary work within the educational sector and a brief spell of teacher training, he realised the opportunity to develop his writing skills and experience with Suite 101, building on subjects that he had enjoyed in a Scientific Communication unit studied at University.

Chris' particular areas of academic interest are Invertebrate Palaeontology and Micropalaeontology, having gone into some depth within those subjects during his studies, and completing his dissertation on the micropalaentological fauna of the London Clay (Ypresian) of Southern England. Subsequently he is rather fond of Foraminiferans.

His broader interests include Zoology in general and Terrestrial and Marine Ecology. Chris views science writing as an excellent way to keep in touch with the subjects that he loves, whilst being creative and developing his professional skills.
