Georgene Bramlage has been Feature Writer for Landscaping since the early days of Suite101over a decade ago. She was formerly Suite 101 Garden Community Manager . Bramlage is a free-lance garden and landscape writer with articles in a number of print publications particularly garden and food-related articles for a regional New England newspaper. She has also been a member of the Garden Writers Association since 1980. Previous and concurrent with writing projects, Bramlage taught biology and horticulture at the college level and owned a small landscape / garden design service in western MA - an American Plant Hardiness Growing Zone 4-5. Bramlage nows lives in the Roanoke (VA) Valley area - an American Plant Hardiness Growing Zone 7 landscape. Her writing and landscaping examples, however, represent many private and public gardens in the U.S. and out of the country. Bramlage travels and photographs extensively to increase her powers of observation, gain knowledge of plant and landscape associations, and regional and cultural differences in landscape designs.
