Cecile Le Page

After passing a BS and Ms degree in Biochemistry , Cecile Le Page did a PhD in Immunology in Paris, France. Then she went to Quebec (Canada) to work as a research scientist. She first worked at the Lady Davis Institute in the Montreal Jewish General Hospital (a McGill University teaching Hospital) as a postdoctoral fellow, then she moved on to work in a biotechnology start-up company called Geneka Biotechnology Inc., which produced supplies for biotechnology research labs. She finally went back to academia to work for the Montreal Cancer Institute at the Hopital Notre-Dame (affiliated with the University of Montreal), where the main focus of her work was on prostate and ovarian cancer.

During these professional experiences Cecile had the opportunity to write and co-write more than 30 scientific publications for the scientific community.

Recently, Cecile moved to British Columbia (Canada) and started to work as a freelance science writer in addition to volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society of BC. She now enjoys communicating scientific news, recent discoveries and progress in applied research to the general public. This helps bring advances in research out of the Lab and into the public domain.
