I own and run a mountain bike and walking business with my husband based in Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean. I love travelling and have biked and hiked all over the world which prompted us to live our dream and establish our own business Wheelie Cyprus four years ago.

Starting a new business is never easy and a secondary source of income is highly recommended in the early years - I found mine in the form of website building. My passion for the great outdoors and the beautiful island of Cyprus led me to start my website Cyprus Travel Secrets and this, in turn, led me to start another part-time career - freelance writing for the internet. I've also just started another website about planning a wedding on a budget.

Incidentally, my background prior to "living the dream" was in the frenetic world of Retail, first menswear then outdoor sports and finally ladies fashion. My hectic but well paid job as a Business Development Director fuelled my desire to travel and escape everyday life by taking adventure holidays in far flung places like Bolivia, Nepal, Tanzania, Ethiopia, New Zealand and Brazil as well as the most unspoiled places in Europe such as the Emilia Romagna region of Italy and several Greek islands.

Funny how all my work colleagues wondered how I could relax on a "tiring" activity holiday. Little did they know that an energising activity break can recharge the batteries ten times more than lying on a beach!

Having my own cycling and hiking business means I can indulge my passion for the great outdoors and also write about my adventures, both past and present. Hopefully my articles will inspire you to try something different whether it be a cycling holiday or setting yourself a major challenge like climbing Kilimanjaro. Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like me to cover any particular topics or even if you would like to try writing yourself. It's really not that hard if you have a passion for something and just let it "flow" from the heart. You can even write a book! I've only managed to publish one eBook up to now - my Cyprus Cycling Guide but I plan to do lots more. So much to do and so little time...but it's great fun.

Life is a rocky road...so ride a mountain bike!
