Referred to as "articulate, highly educated, well travelled, intelligent, charming and passionate about her work", by REALM Magazine (cover story, Summer 2002), Catherine Tse continues to pursue her mainstays of adventure and excellence.
She is a freelance writer, editor and communications consultant, preferably at large. She has studied in three different countries and has earned her BA (Hons) in Communications (Canada) and MA (Distinction) in International Relations (UK). She writes for newspapers, magazines and websites, including The National Post, Abilities and The Georgia Straight.
As a consultant, she is the Communications Specialist for Clean Energy International and has worked with provincial and national levels of government including the federal Departments of Foreign Affairs, Environment and National Defence.
In 2002, after attending a luncheon with the then US Ambassador to Canada, Catherine made such an impression on the Political Affairs staff at the embassy that she was subsequently offered a position in the prestigious International Visitor Program, to travel throughout the US under the auspices of the State Department, learning more about American culture, politics, geography and history.
To encourage other people to discover the joys of travelling (and higher education), Catherine sponsors an annual bursary at Simon Fraser University to help one student each year participate in an international travel study semester.
