I've been interested in stories since long before I could remember. If I wasn't reading a book, I would be watching them on television or seeing at the theater. They seemed to attract me. When I was in 5th grade I wrote my first play because in day camp they put on a play which inspired me to want to write one myself. I wanted to know how stories worked. It wasn't until I was in college that someone gave me a clue of how they worked and then I was able to figure them out myself. Meanwhile I wrote for my high school, community college and college newspapers. In Community College I studied broadcasting at the local community college and later transferred to Quinnipiac where I majored in marketing and lucked out working in the AV department which was located in the broadcasting department and put my broadcasting to good use. I was able to get paid doing some broadcasting jobs which paved the way for me to work on 2 movies, "Heart to Heart.com" which was directed by Roberto Monicello and came in 2nd Place in the 1996 New York International Film Festival. I then worked on "The Ties That Bind", an independent film, directed by Glen Allen, assistant editor of "Apollo 13" which was the 1997 Winner of the Atlantic Film Festival, and in the New York Film Festival won "Best First Feature". My writing has taken its own turn as I just finished a young adult novel and am working on getting it published. I have also written some articles for WebGuru. |
