Carly Hope Finseth spends much of her time pondering what she wants to be when she grows up. She alternates between days filled with cozy socks, hot tea, and meditative reflection - and others, which are loaded with caffeine fixes, grueling commutes, and one fire to put out after another. When she’s not sifting through e-mails, dropping her cell phone, or sticking another reminder Post-It on her desk, Carly also somehow finds the time to write and reflect on important (and the occasional not-so-important) issues.

With more than 15 years of writing and editing experience under her belt, Carly has ghostwritten books for the dating, gaming, and nonprofit industries and has served as senior editor on several writing projects. She is also an accomplished entertainment critic, blogger, and interviewer, having had the chance to sit down and chat with professional poker player Annie Duke, actress Shiri Appleby, musician Holly Brook, author Jennie Shortridge, yoga instructor Hemalayaa, filmmaker Annabelle Gurwitch, and many others.

Currently, she keeps Northwest book lovers up-to-date on the latest local area authors, signings, readings, and more as the Portland Books Examiner for Examiner.com. In addition to Suite101.com, you may also find her work on eHow.com, where she randomly shares her (often limited) expertise on a wide array of subjects. She is the owner of a full-service writing, editing, web design, and consulting company specializing in written and visual content for print and the Internet.

Carly is also the Managing Editor/Publisher of Empowerment4Women, the online retreat and feminist magazine which has been her heart and soul since she gave birth to the site in 2001.
