I'm a Graduate of Alverno College, Milwaukee, WI, with a BA in Professional Communication and a BA in Management.
At the Wustum Museum of Fine Arts, I produced, wrote and edited catalogs, brochures and all PR materials, including a monthly newspaper column and newsletter.
At the Racine Public Library, I was the Publications Department Head, with supervision of print shop operations, writing all PR and patron handout materials, and Newsletter writing and editing. While there it was my greatest pleasure to write, direct, tape and edit video documentaries about local oral histories, public interest features such as the Zoo and Sister Cities activities, and promotional materials.
In my spare time, I was an Adjunct Instructor at Gateway Technical College, teaching Technical Writing and Advanced Essay Composition.
As a free lance writer, I did extensive research and original writing for web content, and wrote magazine and newspaper articles about art, shopping and youth activities.
I am the author of the book, Videotaping for Nonprofits, Scarecrow Press, in which I outlined the work done at the library (see above) and how it was done, as well as why it needed to be done.
