<p>When I was growing up in a small town in Mississippi, I couldn't wait for my chance to escape. It was what I dreamed and talked about. But when the opportunity finally arived, I discovered that I was where I really wanted to be.</p> <p>I have been an educator for more years than I care to tell my students. Since most of them think I am as old as dirt anyway, they already have a rough idea.</p> <p>Through the years I have been a momma to over twenty children, some for a few weeks and some for a few months. Through the miracle of adoption, three of the girls legally became my daughters. One of them, I am happy to say, has even made me a grandmother.
