Roberta Hovermale - Profile

I started my passion for cake decorating in 1995 when I was working in a bakery. I had no previous experience but I had a willingness to learn so the manager starting training me. I enjoyed doing it so much that it also became a favorite hobby. Six months later, I got engaged and moved out of state to live near my fiancé in Colorado. But I have continued to learn and develop my skills on my own. I free lance as a cake decorator and I love to do specialty cakes. Coming up with a new design to meet the person's specifications is a challenge I enjoy.

I am 34 years old and reside in Northern Colorado with my wonderful husband, Phillip, and our 2 sons. Living at an elevation of approximately 8,700-ft. above sea level, I face the challenges of high altitude baking, but the extraordinary scenery that includes beautiful landscapes complete with mountains, lakes, forests, and various wildlife more than makes up for it.

Obviously, cake decorating is my number one hobby but I also enjoy crafting, floral designing, and cooking and surfing the Web. The World Wide Web has opened up new vistas of resources for me . I can spend about 3 hours a day on the Web surfing my favorite sites, checking out new ones, or gathering information for others and myself.
