Brian’s “avocation” is growing a small poetry journal to honor his grandfather (pen name Germoglino Saggio) who left Italy to escape the WWI draft imposed by King Emmanuel III. “Papa” labored 45 years for Tilo Roofing in New Haven, Connecticut but he always referred to himself as a poet. His work is housed at the University of Minnesota Immigration History Research Center and was published prolifically; his most infamous editor Benito Mussolini was said to have put a price on his head, so strong his poetry of protest.
Brian’s poetry has been published in the Main Street Rag, The Berkshire Review, Alpha Beat Press, The Poet's Attic and other small literary zines.
