Linda Mundorff
Suite101.com Contributing Writer
I have worked in health care for overtwenty-five years as aregistered nurse, health educator, associate professor, and a naturopathic doctor. I hold degrees in health education, public health, nursing, and naturopathy; and am a certified nutritional consultant and a board certified traditional naturopath.
As a seasoned registered nurse, health educator and naturopathic doctor, I have seen it all, from patients who expected their physicians to heal them to physicians who missed critical information which resulted in misdiagnoses. Unfortunately, I am intimately aware of such medical errors, as both my mother and sister died of complications related to misdiagnoses.
I have had the honor of being nominated by my students and recognized in the 2004 edition of Who’s Who among Americas Teachers.I am a published author of dozens of articles and three books:
- Take Control: A Guide to Holistic Living;
- Medical Terminology: A Student Workbook; and
- Memories of My Sister: Dealing with Sudden Death, (the latter two books were written under my previous name of Linda Rener).
I have found many creative ways in which to bring my message to the masses. For two years I was the medical director for the 9-Health Fair at Red Rocks Community College. I was the Colorado patient resource advocate for the Cleft Palate Association and uncovered a long lost federal Act that required all health insurance providers to cover cranial-facial repairs. I have worked with many local high schools to provide health career internships for youth at risk; and I developed curriculum in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology for the layperson.
