I wanted to tell a true story story for my autobiography. A story about drugs and death and prison, a story about faith and hope and redemption. About grappling with demons and conquering all with love. But since the lyin' James Frey has ruined that story forever, I have to come up with something else. Let's just say I've been a writer and editor for over 15 years, I've lived for extended periods in four different North American time zones, I believe in kindness to animals and always giving the benefit of the doubt. Until shown otherwise. Then I can be merciless in my revenge. Which, I realize, is probably indicative of some type of disorder. And I've recently become obsessed with uncovering family history I didn't know I had. Although I vowed in journalism school never to cover sports, I played almost every sport imaginable when I was a kid, and am still a weekend warrior on the hockey rink and softball diamond. So here I am, editor of Suite101 Sports. At the same time, it always seemed to me that history was a very worthwhile thing to know about (see 'recent obsession' above ). So I'm happy to be handling that editing role at Suite, as well. Take that, James. |
