Brent Sedo

Suite101 Editor
Brent Sedo, Brent Sedo

Brent Sedo got his start in journalism as the co-founder of his high school paper, the ambitiously titled Springfield Voice. He studied news-editorial journalism at the University of North Dakota, where he was a writer and then assistant editor of the Dakota Student newspaper. He began his professional career as a music writer for Vancouver’s Georgia Straight weekly, spent several years as staff writer and assistant editor for Realm magazine, followed by five-plus years as editor of Sport Quarterly, the newspaper of amateur sports in Nova Scotia. Along the way he has freelanced hundreds of articles for national and regional magazines on a diverse array of topics including politics, the arts, cultural and social issues, business, sports and history. He takes pride in a letter he once wrote being included among the Farley Mowat papers in the archives of McMaster University.
