Recent Blog PostGetting Ready for Summer Births!
As the weather heats up around the world, so do pregnant moms! What are some ways you can stay cool?
I have been a childbirth educator for almost 19 years; initially with ICEA and now with Lamaze International. I became a certified birth doula in 1995 with DONA International. In 2000, I was approved as a doula trainer by DONA and currently serve as DONA's Director of Certification. I have an independent doula practice in Maryland, where I have supported over 300 families during labor in the last 14 years. In the past, I have taught childbirth classes at both Prince Georges' Hospital Center and Anne Arundel Medical Center. I currently teach both group childbirth classes in my home as well as private childbirth classes in couples' homes. Several of my articles have also appeared on About.com including Twins' Births and Postpartum Depression. I have also had articles published in professional journals, including The International Doula. I am currently working on my first book on pregnancy. On a personal note, I have been happily married to my husband for 25 years. We have experienced childbirth twice and have a 21 year old daughter who is a college senior and a 19 year old daughter who is a sophomore in college. I am also a believing Christian and my faith plays a big role in every aspect of my daily life. Please feel free to send your questions or suggestions by email. |
