Recent Blog PostUrban Hunting Program Successful in Gahanna, Ohio
Gahanna, Ohio has a successful urban hunting program that has been in operation for eighteen years. Officials in charge are happy to share their know-how.
I grew up in eastern Kentucky in a family that hunted, fished, hiked, and camped regularly. Although I moved to Ohio to become a teacher and a writer, I continue to enjoy outdoor sports, along with volunteering as an assistant to the naturalists at Blacklick Metro Park in the Columbus Metro Park System. I am a member of the Ohio Writer’s Guild, where I shared an essay I had written on one of my favorite sports, fly fishing. My fellow writers encouraged me to submit the essay for publication. To my delight, I discovered that I could combine two of my favorite things: outdoor sports and writing. My outdoor articles have appeared in Ohio Valley Outdoors magazine, Ohio Game & Fish, and I am a regular writer for online magazine Greenmaple Wellness. Through Suite 101, I am able to share five decades of fishing, hiking, camping, and hunting experience with my readers. I hope that they enjoy my writing and that they discover for themselves the fun and excitement of outdoor sports. |
