I'm a recently retired technical writer with a life-long interest in observing nature. Since 1962, I've been privileged to live in Fort Collins, Co. at the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, within easy driving distance of Rocky Mountain National Park, the Cache la Poudre River (Colorado's wild and scenic river) and the Pawnee National Grasslands. I have camped and hiked in spectacular locations all over the state and taken classes and seminars in biology, ornithology, lichens, and outdoor photography.

I went to college in mid-life and gained a B.S., and M.S. in Child Development and Family Relationships, worked in research and evaluation, and finally wrote documentation for computer software. Now I'm using the computer to research my own interests and to share information with others who want to learn about the natural world.

About ten years ago, I became interested in photography, and it has become a passion that enhances my enjoyment of nature. The camera focuses me and I see more than I thought was there, especially through a macro lens. Gardening, birding, and reading fit right in with my other interests.
