Scuba Divemaster And The Sixth Sense
An example of the use of knowledge, experience and trust in a scuba diving situation.

Hello from an Australian freelancer! I’ve been scratching articles together in Australia in a range of subjects for a number of years. Two of my life passions are seeking varied adventures in this great world and then getting those experiences down in the written word.
Scuba diving has been one of my simple pleasures in life and I get great enjoyment taking a slow, relaxing dive over a coral reef. I have a scuba Divemaster qualification. Another passion is hiking the great Australian bush. I have trudged many well known tracks in Australasia – Tasmania's tracks, New Zealand’s Milford Track and the historically significant Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea, to name a few.
During these adventures rubbing shoulders with an interesting mix of people, I have experienced first-hand the mistakes, the advances and the challenges that are present for today’s outdoors enthusiast.
Coupling this experience with my appreciation of the written word makes a great combination. For example, by merging the skills of a journalist with the broad depth of experience from my scuba diving, I was successful as a field editor for one of Australia’s premier scuba diving magazines for over five years.
I have had an instructional scuba book published. “Dive Debrief” was aimed at students who have just completed their basic scuba training course. At this time, novice divers still have a lot to learn and this book compliments the “school of hard knocks”.
Other areas of my freelance writing are travel, history, computing, personal finances and general interest. I have worked as a freelance writer for a local community based newspaper and I wrote a regular “How To” column for an Australian sailboarding magazine for a number of years. Travelling and associated articles are another focus, covering destinations and hints for how to get there easily and safely.
I have tertiary qualifications in Engineering; Arts (Journalism & Communications) and Business Administration.
I continually strive to learn from my personal experiences and attempt to impart this knowledge to others. Sometimes controversial, sometimes breaching new subjects and occasionally introducing concepts on the lateral plane, I’m sure you’ll find my articles interesting, informative and thought-provoking.
