Ben Cluse
Suite101.com Contributing Writer
Ben's passions are threefold: film, writing and travel. Born in Adelaide, Australia, he studied Film and English at Flinders University, graduating with a Bachelor's in Screen Studies and a minor in English.
As a filmmaker Ben has worked on numerous films, and has written and directed several of his own. His most successful cinematic creation is the short 'Procreation for a Better Australia', which was nominated for Best Comedy Production, Director, Writer and Production Designer at the South Australian Short Film Awards. The film also screened at the Melbourne Independent Film Festival and won Best Short 5 to 10 minutes on 'icewhole.com' - a film screening and networking Web Site.
As a writer, Ben has been published on a number of occasions, most notably in 'The Advertiser' newspaper's Short Story contest, and in two short story collections; 'Infusions' and the ABC's Noise publication and magazine for young creative people. Ben has written a travel blog while travelling around Asia, North America and Europe; the blog receiving over 9000 visitors in just over a year.
Which brings us to Ben's third passion; travel. This passion has seen him travel all over the globe, visiting numerous countries in four continents. He's lived in England, for a period of time, and travelled the British Isles extensively. Ben one day aims to travel every inch of the planet and to write about his experiences. He is also working on several works of fiction, which he one day intends to publish.
