I have a passion for travel and recently my fiance and I had the pleasure of living in Korea. If I am not traveling then you can be sure that I am planning our next vacation. I love to learn about new cultures and languages.
Traveling has opened up a new world of food and drink for me. I am always excited to get out for dinner or libations and to try new places. When staying in I do like to experiment in the kitchen and create new recipes.
My desire to write comes from my incredible interest in language and vocabulary and of course expression. Much of my writing over the last few years has been based on our world travels. While living in Asia and teaching English I had the opportunity to write my own learning material. I thoroughly enjoy putting pen to paper, or lately fingers to keyboard, and have amassed a collection of poems, stories, and essays that I have been writing since I was very young.
Besides travel and writing I am interested in photography, the arts, architecture and design. Some of my artistic pursuits are drawing, sculpting and theatre. I enjoy interior decorating and home styling and I hope to do more in the future. I have worked in the fringes of the home design industry and like to stay current with trends.
I have received honourable mentions for my poetry. By 14 one of my pieces was published in a local educational paper and used as a teaching aid.
I am now working on a novel inspired by our travels and the impressions left by foreign cultures. I look at the story line as a truth with some fiction. I tend to think that life is just that, a truth with some imagination mixed in.
